Transformer Oil Condition Monitoring & Oil Filtration

OIL LAB undertakes transformer condition monitoring through oil analysis. Transformer is a complex and critical component of the power transmission and distribution system. System abnormalities, loading, switching and ambient condition normally contributes towards accelerated aging and sudden failures. In the absence of monitoring, the failure risk is always high. Oil in power transformers and distribution transformers serve the purpose of electrical insulation to withstand the high voltage present inside the transformer and as a heat transfer medium to dissipate heat generated within the transformer windings. After a period of time the oil gets contaminated by water, gases fiber from insulating materials impurities and its breakdown voltage comes down. OIL LAB undertakes reconditioning their -service oil for efficient performance of the transformer by removal of contaminants accumulated during service. The removal of contaminants like gases, fiber from insulation, water and other impurities are done by oil filtration through the application of vacuum.

In Service Oil Condition Monitoring

Oil condition monitoring can help in the identification of problem at an early stage in equipment by analyzing the condition of oil in service. The benefits of the process are reduce downtime, lower machine repair costs, optimize maintenance intervals, extended oil drain period and reduce capital investment. The results of testing and their diagnosis are produced as a report similar to that shown below. The diagnosis helps the customer to act at an early stage before major problems occurs in the machine. The ISOM report indicates actual status:

Two broad categories of samples are being under taken.
1. In-service samples from turbines, compressors, hydraulic systems, marine engines, fleets, Industrial systems etc.
2. In-service samples from aircrafts engines and hydraulic systems, helicopter engines and rotors etc.

Bitumen Testing
OIL LAB undertakes Bitumen and its Derivatives (SSIH, MC all grades) quality control testing by conducting following tests like Penetration, Ductility, Specific Gravity, Viscosity, Flash Point, Softening point Storage stability, Solubility etc.

Water Quality Testing
OIL LAB can conduct complete analysis of waste water and microbiological and chemical analysis of drinking water by conducting the tests like, Chloride, Bicarbonates, Sulphates, pH, Conductivity, Color, Total bacterial counts, Total coli forms, Fecal coli forms Pseudomonas, BOD, COD, TDS, TSS, Oil & Grease and heavy metals.

Air Quality Monitoring
